Remind Scott is an appointment reminder service based on text messages. SMS Texting gets peoples attention better than calendar appointments and dont require the recipient to even use a compatible digital calendar. Unlike emails, texts do not get trapped by spam filters. Remind Scott allows users to schedule text message reminders for delivery at any time in the future. As a service, the device that created the message doesnt have to be on or even exist at the time of delivery because messages are posted to a server in the cloud which runs 24/7. Messages are received as real text messages although the caller ID will be the phone carriers servers as opposed to the originating phone. Common usages include businesses reminding clients about dental cleanings, haircuts, oil changes, etc. Remind Scott is cheaper than post card reminders and nearly universal because of cell phones.

Remind Scott does not require a text message account to work. Instead, it only requires an Internet connection such as free WiFi to work. At the moment, Remind Scott messages can only be sent to phones in North America. However, the sender can be anywhere in the world as long as they have access to the Internet. Clever applications of Remind Scott include creating time capsules for delivery several years later or sending yourself a delayed phony text message to get yourself out of a boring meeting or date. Likewise, preparing birthday and anniversary reminders is a snap with Remind Scotts recurring reminder feature and helps avoid disappointments later.

This app requires access to your address book to work. Nothing that violates privacy will take place. It merely presents you with recipients by name so that you dont have to remember every phone number under the sun. If you deny access and later want to use the app anyway, you have to go into Settings->Privacy->Contacts->Remind Scott and set it to ON.
